UPDATE - Bob and Marie have been able to reschedule this trip - get in quickly to secure your place.
*********************
We have had several trips to Moreton, the last one was Sept.2007. So here we go again.
Moreton Island is a sand island similar to Fraser Island but a lot smaller, approx.38 k.m.x10k.m. and is 98% National Park.
The touring is very tide dependant and a lot easier, relaxing with time to fish, swim, whale watch, walk and socialize etc. (no dingoes).
We will be on the Island for 5 nights with a base camp at a National Park Camping area with cold showers, toilets and water nearby.
There are Barge fees, camping fees and vehicle access permit fees to pay, because of this a definite commitment will be required with payment in full before the 9th Sept. for Barge booking and access permits. Camping fees are paid separately to Qld Nat. Parks ( we will organize all bookings)
Barge leaves 8.30.a.m.SHARP on Monday 4th Oct. from Brisbane River (more details later). Be there 40 minutes early for permits etc. Restaurant, snack food, coffee etc. available on board. We will be back in Brisbane approximately 12.30 P.M. Saturday 9th Oct.
The Barge trip takes almost 2 hours, so fees are getting expensive, for 2 people the costs for Barge fees, camping 5 nights and veh.access permit would be approx.$308.25, additional passengers and trailers are extra.
Further information and trip requirements will follow.
TRIP LIMIT 6 – 7 cars
NOTES I will make Barge Bookings etc. in bulk prior to trip. Mobile phones work on high bits of Island.
