A Big Day Out - The Toolangi and Adjacent Forests, Winches, Tyres, Chainsaws, Safety, Photography and more

Description:  A Range Rover Club of Victoria and Pajero 4WD Club of Victoria event

Join us for the second Big Day Out on the Mornington Peninsula for club members to learn the latest and safest way to use Winches, Tyres and Chainsaws on your adventures and hear advice on how to take the best photos in the bush.

We will also hear from the CEO of the Victorian National Parks Association about the Interim Report on the Assessment of Values of the Central Highlands and the provision of recommendations to the Minister on the future uses of the Immediate Protection Areas and adjacent state forest in eastern Victoria.

Bring your interesting vehicle to showcase to fellow club members.

Speakers:

Robert Pepper - Talking Tyres – what you need to know but probably don’t .
                        -  and Photography

Robert is a well known independent 4WD automotive journalist who makes videos, authors books, writes articles and works with industry experts to bring you evidence-based content you can use, backed by real-world experience.

Matt Ruchel - The Executive Director of the Victorian National Parks Association since 2007https://vnpa.org.au/

Matt has an extensive background in environmental policy. He has worked in non-government environmental policy areas in the state, national and international arena for more than 30 years.

Matt will discuss the Interim Report on the Assessment of Values of the Central Highlands and the provision of recommendations to the Minister on the future uses of the Immediate Protection Areas and adjacent state forest in eastern Victoria.

Alberto Pamintuan - Chainsaws – safety and petrol or electric

Alberto is an accredited chainsaw operator and has run chainsaw training courses for Four Wheel Drive Victoria & the Pajero 4WD Club of Victoria.  A member of the Pajero Club Driver Training Unit for many years; and is active in designing and running courses beyond the basic courses such as Navigation, Winching and Chainsaw safety

Look out for the Land Rover marking the entrance to the private property.

The location is on the left immediately past the Equestrian Centre on the right. If you see the entrance to Jack’s Beach on the left you have gone too far.

BYO:  Picnic chair, BYO picnic lunch.  You are welcome to bring a plate to share.

Club Guest Registration policy:  It is club policy in regard to insurance cover that if a member brings any non-members on the trip they must be registered and have paid the required fee as Temporary Members BEFORE the event. 
i.e.  non- members can no longer register on the day with the trip leader.

Also if a non-member wishes to bring their own vehicle, the member inviting the non-member must contact the trip leader for approval to bring the vehicle. Such approval will take into account skills of the driver, suitability of the vehicle and whether or not a place within the convoy limit is available for a non-member's vehicle.
