One day trailer and van course

Course notes will be supplied.  

We will cover all the basics such as.

• Vehicle and caravan inspection,
• POWERS check, Petrol oil water electrical rubber safety
• Compliance of vehicle and caravan,
• Trailer hookup and unhook,
• Weights and loading,
• Safety chains and shackles,
• Seating and steering wheel control,
• Spotters’ roles and how to do it well,
• Standard reversing and maneuvering,
• Complex maneuvering, i.e. reverse parallel parking,
• Stopping distances,
• And anything else that you would like to discuss. I’m also hoping to have some vehicle scales to weigh your rigs. (If you want to)

Equipment:  Bring your caravan, camper or trailer.  It's great to bring your partner so that you can both understand how to act as a spotter and how to give clear instructions that you both understand.  

Additional items required: UHF Radios, One for the driver and one for the spotter.  Morning tea will be provided but please bring along your own lunch. Toilets are available.  Please note the Club does have spare radios that can be used on the day with prior arrangement.
