Toolangi / Narbethong Day Trip

Date and time:  Saturday 20th August 

Description:  Please contact your trip leader if you are unsure of any of the following requirements for this trip.

This trip is designed for primarily for those who have recently completed the RRCV Driver Training Course and wish to use and further there new found skills, although all are welcome.

Weather:  Can be unpredictable and can be cold and wet at this time of year so bring appropriate clothing, food and water. Check weather forecast close to trip day. 

Equipment:  Below are the recommended vehicle requirements.  If you are not sure if you vehicle is suitable for a trip, please have a chat with the trip leader.

Good off-road tyres (All Terrain,) UHF radio (or one borrowed from the club), a well-maintained vehicle with low range (or equivalent), good ground clearance (200mm recommended as a minimum), recovery points, standard recovery gear including dampener, rated snatch strap and shackles.  Drivers must have completed the RRCV club training or equivalent. 

Additional Equipment required: Clothing for wet and cold conditions in case.  Morning tea and lunch will be in the bush so byo simple, “on the move” lunches and morning / afternoon teas (byo thermos etc).

No camper trailers, pets or firearms

Trip Standard:  Medium - some steep, low-range hill climbs. Expect a few steep challenging sections and due to the recent rains, possibly some slippery and boggy sections depending on the weather.

Fuel:  Full tank ex Melbourne. Fuel available in Yarra Glen or Healesville. 

Distance:  Approx. distance of 80 Km of mainly low range driving. .

Duration:  1 days

Convoy limit:  10 vehicles

Passengers & non-member participation: If you wish to bring a passenger that is not a partner or your child visit they must register as Temporary Members to join in. See our website for details.
Temporary (Guest) Membership

Temporary Members are NOT allowed to drive with out speaking to the Trip Leader first. This is to ensure that the driver and vehicle are sufficiently prepared for the trip.

Meeting arrangements:   We plan to meet at the Beechworth Bakery 316 Maroondah Hwy, Healesville and depart at 9.00am sharp.  If you plan to get coffee or breakfast beforehand (I do) then you will need to arrive earlier. They open at 6:30am. We will aim to finish about 4.00pm in Healesville all going to plan.
