Go Deep in the Wild East

Date and time:  8:15am, Saturday 29th April to 4:00pm Sunday 30th April

Description:  New Members & Families Welcome

A combined Range Rover Club of Victoria (RRCV), Pajero 4WD Club and Land Rover Owners Club of Victoria trip. Run under the Rules of the RRCV.

This unique Far East Gippsland weekend trip combines a Saturday Go Deep in the Wild East event, which includes an opportunity to build your own nature based adventure and meet the locals of Goongerah and Bendoc, with a club Saturday night camp and Sunday explore of the Errinundra and nearby forests.

For those of you who have visited Goongerah and Bendoc before, the Saturday will give you an opportunity to meet the locals and experience some special local experiences.

You will need to book for the Saturday event (see link below) which includes a catered community lunch at Bendoc and choose your own options from a local biodiversity guided Old Growth Walk, a supported cycle(provided) through the forest and walk, a Regenerative Agriculture Farm Tour, a Wildlife Experience, a local artist led Nature Prints session and afternoon spent exploring Bendoc including visiting the Bendoc Mini-market and having a drink at the newly reopened historic Bendoc Hotel.

The lunch and Saturday event is a celebration to mark the post bushfire recovery grants provided to the local communities by Emergency Recovery Victoria so there will be some speeches.  One of the grants supported the Friends of Errinundra rejuvenation of the Old Growth Walk (with Parks Vic involvement) for which members of the 3 clubs provided some track clearing activities.  This is also an opportunity to support the local communities in building a nature tourism industry and provide feedback to the various officials in the importance of this region.

Booking for the Saturday event – please do this for your group as soon as possible using the link below.

Please choose the self drive option (this includes the lunch and all the morning and afternoon options) as we will need all our camping gear and food for Saturday night and Sunday. At a cost of $15 per person (a 30% discount if you book in March: Code EarlyBird) this event is heavily subsidised by a number of local and Government organisations.  All the ticket costs go to local community members acting as tour guides on the Saturday.  If you just want to join the trip for the Saturday you may register for the bus trip which commences at Orbost and returns you there in the evening.

Please bring all your camping gear and food and water for the weekend apart from the catered lunch on Saturday.

The Saturday activities will give club members who have volunteered for Track Clearing with Parks Victoria over the last 18 years an opportunity to meet locals and experience some special local community activities.
