Eildon: Lake Views & Ridgetop Tracks

Date and time:  9:30am, Sunday 24 March 2024

Trip Standard:  Medium with possible hard sections

Description:  4WD Treks Close to Melbourne – Track confirmation for a new trek.  New members and families welcome.  Please contact your trip leader if you are unsure of any of the following requirements for this trip.

From Bonnie Doon we drive to The Paps for some marvelous views (weather dependent) of Lake Eildon and surrounding farmland before heading to the Delatite Arm of Lake Eildon. We climb to the top of Highett Ridge before descending this scenic ridgetop track to Lake Eildon. With extensive views of the current high-water levels in Lake Eildon as we negotiate the exposed rocky track down to the lake this is a great day out. Driving around the shoreline we will investigate some of the many free lake edge camping areas.

As this is a trek validation trip there will be extra stops along the way.

As this is a Medium trip with possible hard sections (weather and track condition dependent) we require participants to have completed Proficiency driver training.

Please bring all your food and water for the day. We will have morning and afternoon tea and picnic lunch in the bush so please bring your food and water supplies with you ready for easy preparation.

We recommend RACV Total Care or similar plus full Ambulance Cover.
