Winch Training Course. 

In Conjunction with The Pajero Club

Description:   :  This is an opportunity for members to learn how to use a winch in a safe manner.  The course will cover the following topics:

1. The fundamentals of winching.
2. Winching Safety.
3. Winching Techniques.
4. Understanding Loads on Winch components.

This is your opportunity to use a winch in a controlled environment with instruction from an experienced Instructor.

The Theory will be at the Glen Waverley Bowls club and the Practical will be at the Black Spur Inn, Narbethong. 

There will be a half day of practical at the back of the Black Spur Inn and then after lunch we will head out to the forest and find a steep slope to winch up. We will be covering all levels from a single line pull to a Spanish Burton (4:1 Ratio)

Weather:  Please bring footwear and clothing suitable for the conditions and keep an eye on the weather forecast prior to the weekend. 

Equipment:  Vehicles should have a winch and UHF radio (A radio can be borrowed from the club).  Usual recovery gear needs to be carried.
