All vehicle makes welcome – it’s not about the cars - it’s about the people
Description: This trek follows a route from Robert Pepper's book 4WD trips close to Melbourne. It provides a gentle meander through areas of mountain forest and state park as it runs north from Marysville to Thornton. Along the route is ample evidence of the regions gold-mining and logging history, whilst towards the end of the trek is the Rubicon Historic Area, the site of the state's first hydro-electric power scheme which commenced operation in 1929.
There are toilets at the campgrounds at Cooks Mill, Neds Gully and Kendalls along the route.
The exact route will be subject to track and weather conditions.
Weather: Weather can be unpredictable so bring appropriate clothing and footwear for all conditions.
